ANSYS Acquires Century Dynamics at 5M. Century Dynamics' main product, AUTODYN(R) has very good solver for SPH, and multi-physics FE and CFD.

Ansys is about 120M company. I do not know the size of FLUENT but it's not impossible for them to acquire the giant of CFD as their track records tell.

They are very strong in structural analysis and may be a little bit behind compared to ABAQUS in non-linear and crash worthy case to LSDYNA.

Ansys bought CFX a while ago. I doubt they need any more CFD.

I remember a similar history in the field of process simulators. Aspen had bought Hyprotech last year or before last year.Aspen has Aspen,Aspen Plus,Aspen dynamic modeller,and OTiS(Operator training Simulator) and Hyprotech has Hysys,Hysys Dynamic as plant simulators and Hysys OTS as operator training simulator.Both have heat exchanger and reactor designer.They do almost the same job. But Aspen owned Hyprotech.It is wild world.

Can Never Take it unless they decide to merge. Fluent itself is 70-80 million company.
