Megatron is on a distinguished road
Hi fellow CFDians,

I am working in electronics cooling of a BTS system. It is an outdoor unit hence it is Ingress protected. The fans are mounted outside the chassis to cool the PCB through conduction and forced convection.

The issue is, the fans that are mounted outside are very close to the chassis. The fan is 50mm square, the gap between the fan and the chassis is only 20mm.

Q1:This leads to very less CFM. What is the appropriate position for the fan location in these cases. How to improve the situation?

Q2: How to select the fans for such kind of application?

Q3: What would be effect on the fan life?, fan acoustics?

Kindly enlighten me.......
