How to estimate the Kolmogorov scale in the DNS of boundary layer turbulent flow?

I know that the Kolmogorov scale can be calculated from the viscosity and dissipation rate. And the dissipation rate is of order u^3/L, where u is the fluctuating velocity and L is the integral length scale.
I know u can be obtained after simulation. However, how to determine L in downstream, wall-normal and streamwise directions? Further, is it possible to estimate u and L in each direction in advance? Thank you. Last edited by hadesmajesty; January 12, 2011 at 03:10. Reason: Display more clearly |
