Hallo folks!
Does anybody know, if the Navier-Stokes equation also contains the represents turbulent flow? |

Hi,
I believe they do, provided you have the proper mesh and time-step resolution (i.e. DNS). For engineering problems, these resolutions can usually not be achieved hence the use of turbulence models... Julien |

As long as they are not averaged and no turbulence model is being used, they represent turbulent flow as well. However, like julien said, your mesh has to be fine enough to resolve all turbulent structures (referred to as Direct Numerical Simulation)
