Hello,
Can anyone direct me to code or literature for a 3D finite-volume Poisson solver on non-uniform Cartesian coordinates? I am more concerned with the proper determination of the coefficient matrix than the solution method for the system of equations. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Scott |

I remember there are two pieces of old paper which maybe help you,
one is : Physica D (1992) High order finite volume approximations of differential operators on nonuniform grids another one is : Journal of Computational Physics, 1980, Solution of poisson equations on a nonuniform grid |

solution matrix is determined in that by finite difference method. |

Hei Scott,
you could use the code from the Peric book ( ftp://ftp.springer.de/pub/technik/peric/ ) . Or you could use the NaSt3DGP code, which is finite-difference, time explicit and projection method (http://wissrech.iam.uni-bonn.de/rese...3DGP/index.htm). By the way, if you use a cartesian domain, you can also easily use finite differences. Regards Hans |
