Hi Friends,
I am new in this field... I an planning to simulate a reactive flow in pipe of length approximately 2 meter. here i am heating the pipe with a coiled heater upto 450-500 degree centigrade in which steam and chemical reactants are flowing. my basic objective is to get conversion of the reactant in the pipeline.also i am measuring temperature in side the fluid material.now i have to simulate that in CFD but basic hitch is to get the mesh. Can any body suggest type of best mesh and how to generate that. Also down the line i am planning to study heat transfer and mass transfer in the system. please help !!!! |

I haven't done much work on reacting systems, but I see no reason why you can't keep it simple and use a tetrahedral mesh. If you just need to mesh a cylinder, you can probably use a simple program such as gmsh. If you are going to mesh a cylindrical domain with a coiled surface on the inside, maybe use ansys to generate the geometry and then mesh inbetween the surfaces.
