Hi guys,
Right now I am simulating pollution dispersion in an urban canyon. I having some problems when i run it in fluent. Attach here is the pic of the urban canyon i am trying to solve. What i want to do is to disperse a co2 source at the center of the bottom of the pic. I have tried doing species transport but there is no coordinate to refer to for my dispersion. How can I solve this in fluent. Many thanks in advance. |

Hi there,
what are the symmetry planes doing inside the computational domain? periodic bc are mentioned ok..do the symmetry planes belong there? The geometry you have is simply a nice 3D backward and forward facing step profile..should be easily to track co2 particles here.. You do not need species transport..rather do a scalar transport modeling ..its straightforward using Fluent's manual. Just to make sure you get good flow convergence - try running the problem with no scalars (co2 fraction) and compare with some literature data for 3D flow over these step like boundaries.
