hi CFD friends
I have a basic question. I used different schemes to propagate a guassian pulse using 1 D advection equation. My problem is to find the actual values of dissipation(amplitude) and dispersion(phase) error separately from the output values and not from any mathematical analysis of the scheme directly. Thank You in advance vasanth |

I think try to compare the maximum values (peak of the guassian wave) for dissipation and the location where the peak occurs for dispersion error. Please correct me if this method is wrong
