Dominant ocean wave period

Can someone tell me what dominant ocean wave period amount to?

I don't think you'll find one quick answer for that one... as it all depends - i.e. on storm conditions or what stretch of water your are considering (north sea/atlantic).
Best bet is to look at a spectrum for the area of concern and choose the peak frequency (where most of the energy is at) I would guess that you wouldn't be too far wrong with a period of 10-12s for the Atlantic? |

Hm-m-m, of course you're right about wave period dependence on row of factors...but, Ok, that's enough.
