What are the best schemes(i.e eulers,Crank-nicolson.....ect) to solve Wave equation. Why CN method is not familiar in solving Wave equation ? Any help in this regard is highly appreciated. regards rvndr |

Because CN is imlicit method!
Try using one of the explicit methods. |

CN scheme is 2nd order, try Runge Kutta. Please visit : - http://www.lions.odu.edu/~fhu/reprints.htm (F.Q. Hu papers for acoustic wave propagation)

There are many schemes that are good for solving wave equation.Mc Cormack is a good scheme (user friendly) Flux splitting schemes are good.
