I am modeling a heated flat plate in a flow duct. The heated plate is neither constant heat flux along the plate or constant temperature. It has small cartridge heaters along the center and they all supply the same amount of heat. Therefore there is conduction down the plate and the flux varies. I have a condition where I have turbulent flow in the duct Re>2400 but laminar flow over the plate in the boundary layer. Which model do I use? The max Re on the plate is around 350000. The problem I am having is that my temperatures are lower than what was recorded during experiments. Right now I am using k-omega with transitions and SST. Any advice will be appreciated.
