Hi,
I am trying to simulate normal-shock and vortex interaction. My problem is how can we initialize moving shock. Any insight on it will be helpfull. Thanks Apurva |

You have to just set the initial pre- and post- shock conditions. Usually the shock mach number, pressure and density will be specified using which you can calculate the velocity. See any book on gas dynamics. The calculation is quite simple. First calculate the shock speed. Then change to a reference frame attached to the shock. In this frame the shock is stationary and you cann apply the jump conditions. Solve for all unknowns and change back to original reference frame.
