Sr. Thermal/Mechanical Design Engineer
Job Location: Austin, TX (F/T) Job description: Engineer will be responsible for the engineering development of heat exchangers for heat removal from sub-systems and enclosures. He/She will be responsible for the mechanical sub-system design to optimize heat transfer and the integration with customer applications. Ability to create multiple design options to solve a given application is a key part of this design responsibility. Will be accountable for working the designs with manufacturing partners for better manufacturability and reliability. Should be able to independently manage the automation and system integration of the mechanical component. He/she will interface with customers as needed to define the design specifications. Requirements: MS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with minimum 6 years experience in heat exchanger design and thermal modeling. Excellent knowledge of current manufacturing and reliability requirements in heat transfer systems is desirable. Should have good command over materials technology, thermal issues and automation techniques used by high volume manufacturing and ODM companies. Familiarity with fluid and heat transfer based design and modeling tools to drive system level solutions is a must. Should be a self-starter who can work independently and obtain milestone driven results. The candidate should have good oral and written communication skills combined with an ability to be creative in a team based work environment. Experience/knowledge in electronics packaging design a plus.
