Dear Friends,
In case of incompressible MHD fluid flows, how the divergence free condition on the magnetic field is enforced? References are welcome. Valdemir. |

The simplest way is is to use divergence-free basis functions. For 2D FEM using quadrilaterals, check out http://j.t.holdeman.home.att.net. Select "Research Interests" then download the pdf file for the updated version of the paper "II. Some Hermite Interpolation functions for Solenoidal and Irrotational Vector Fields." I have some higher order bases in 2D and a 3D basis, but these papers are not ready for publication yet.
