+ shape circular pipe - meshing possible?

I've been working on auto-HEXA meshing problem for a while. It might be something like artificial intelligence meshing machine. But even for the simple problem like + shape circular pipe with 1 element thinkness, it is very complicated to get proper algorithm. Actually, the shape comes from my son's toy while i was working on more simpler case. I heard about national project the hex meshing.
It's tough even by manual meshing. Any information? -Selina |

We are also working on similar shapes. Circular pipes connecting in a + topology. It is difficult to have a structured grid, but with blocks it is possible. I am curious haw are you meshing this shape.. Rgds k.
