Hello, I am modelling a 2 phase ( air and water ) flow through a convergent divergent Nozzle to obtain a fine spray at the exit.Im using VOF model for calculations .I had indicated atmospheric pressure boundaries at the exit(I created a region after exit...typically an rectangular far field...for visualising the spray ) and found that the solutions werent converging.

If any of you could help me in Modelling this atomization model,I wud greatly appreciate it.I couldnt find fluent Modelling procedure for Atomisation models.

Please advice

Thanks

Bharath.

Hello,

VOF model is normally used for free surface flows not for atomization. You should use a Lagrangian approach or perhaps a Euler-Euler approach.

Hello there Thanks for the note.Im workin with Lagrange approach.I wanna knw ..as to how I could Visualize the "Fine Spray" that would exit out of the nozzle. Is my Atmospheric Boundary condition at the exit would be a good option ?I m also thinkin of using Outflow condition at the exit. Wht can be done to visualize the spray better ??
