Hi friends,
I am solving Visc. Incomp flow. in a curved channel using SIMPLE. My outlet is sufficiently far from the bend region. I am specifying uniform pressure at exit (It's known) . I have no Idea what boundary condition to give on Pressure correction ie P'. Can anyone throw some light. Thanks Abhijit. |

hi there,
i think that the simplest BC you can choose for the pressure is just: dP/dn = 0 where n is the normal direction to the boundary. sincerely, Frederic Felten. |

I don't know SIMPLE in depth.
With that warning, can I guess that, if you know P at the outlet, the correction P' at the outlet should be zero? |

Hi.
If you know pressure on exit boundary, you can use the pressure BC as you said. Usually pressure is updates as p^(m+1) = p^(m) + p' here m is iteration number. If pressure is fixed, p'(pressure correction) is zero. That means Dirichlet BC is used at the boundary for pressure correction equation. |
