Hello all, I need a 2D grid generator which will generate a body fitted grid around simple geometries like airfoils, cylinders, etc., to simulate Viscous flows.
If suggestion in the form of websites where we can download is also appreciable Thanx |

(1). Joe Thompson's book of "numerical grid generation" has Fortran codes attached to do various 2-D grid generation. (2). The book is free on Internet, see resources section. (3). Always surf the resources section first, before you ask a question. It will save you a lot of time.

I don't know how soon you need this grid generator, probably tomorrow, right? I am planning to put such a program on my website - www.cfd4pc.com - for download within 6-8 weeks. So far only O-grid, elliptically or algebraically generated. C-grid, which is needed for viscous airfoil analysis will come later. O-grid works fine on cylinders, circular or elliptical, anything without a sharp trailing edge.
I'll tell you what, as soon as I have the installation file ready, I will let you know, and you can test it for me. I always need a few people to test the installation on different platforms and run the software before I publish. |

Hello,
you can search the NASA website for "hyperbolic grid" or "hyperbolic mesh" this will give you a lot of papers about how you can generate C type meshes on 2D configurations. If you need a more detailed help send me your email. Quote:
