Hello All ,
One of the most used methods for simulating the fluid flow inside a petroleum reservoir is the IMPES method (Implicit Pressure Explicit Saturation). Since, saturations are treated explicitly, the CFL < 1 condition must be satisfied. Can anyone, please, tell me what is the formulation (i.e. how to determine) the CFL number for this set of equations (or give any reference for that). Thanks in advance. Neyval |

You can find more information related to time step required for the IMPES method in book " Petroleum Reservoir Simulation" by Aziz,K and Settari, A.
