Now I work on a hybrid Finte-Volume/Monte-Carlo method for joint PDF equations. Some quantities used in FV scheme is extracted from particle field(e.g.,Reynolds stress). To reduce the statistical error,a time averaging technique is employed. Assuming the quantity in FV scheme is Q_{fv}, in MC scheme is Q_{mc}. Q_{fv}^{n+1}=(1-factor)*Q_{fv}^n+factor*Q_{mc} where "factor" is the time averaging factor. The question is:how to determine the value of "factor"? is it problem depend? If yes, what does it depend on?If the value is specialized by experiment, could you suggest a value?
Thanks! |
