Hello all
I have been trying to get a fem code with penalty function for pressure to work. Is there any rule of thumb on the (order of) penalty parameter for general fluid applications... Thanks. |

Yes. In many cases you can get very good results if you select a penalty parameter equal to 1E8-1E12. However, the best method is to use a variable penalty parameter as function of viscosity i.e.
penalty parameter=(a Large value eg.1E10)*viscosity |
