Hello,
I am conducting a CFD simulation for a sandblasting case through a converging-diverging nozzle. I am using the Discrete Phase Model (DPM) in ANSYS Fluent to inject particles at the nozzle inlet. My objective is to achieve a uniform particle distribution in the radial direction at the inlet. Here’s what I observed: Particle Pathlines: The pathlines of the particles, as shown in the attached figures, indicate an even distribution in the radial direction. Volume Fraction: When analyzing the particle volume fraction in the radial direction at the inlet, there is a higher concentration of particles near the axis and a lower concentration near the nozzle wall. Particle Count: On examining the number of particles in the cells along the radial direction, it appears that the particles are almost evenly distributed. Given this discrepancy between the volume fraction and particle count: What could be the reason for this issue? Is there an alternative method to calculate the volume fraction of particles in the radial direction (y-direction)? Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! 1.png 2.png 3.png 4.png |
