In the cavitation Model, the mass transfer of liquid phase and vapor phase has been calculated by the cavitation model. Taking the evaporation process as an example, in Figure 1, equation 1 is the phase fraction equation, and Schnerr and Sauer Model have given the expression of the source term, as shown in equation 2.
Now there are two discrete methods, the first is explicit processing, as shown in Figure 2, but the results of the calculation do not seem to be quite correct.
The second Method is The Finite Volume Method in Computational Fluid Dynamics, as shown in Figure 3, but it is difficult to differentiate the source term, because both the mixing density and the bubble radius are related to the phase fraction,as shown in equations 3 and 4. Is there a good way to do the volume integration of the source term?

Your question relates to the linearization of the source term, i.e. its explicit vs. implicit treatment.

Regarding your explicit treatment (Figure 2), I am not sure what you mean by the results of the calculation do not seem to be quite correct. Are you referring to the particular form of the fully explicit source term treatment or converged simulation results?

If no errors were made in the derivation, and the simulation converges, then the explicit treatment of the source term should work fine. The introduction of some degree of "implicitness" in the source term formulation is typically needed to aid in convergence, but the source term treatment should not impact the converged result unless an error was made in its derivation.
