Hi!
May I have a question about how the continuity equation is handled in interFoam? I understand that two incompressible phases are involved in interFoam and pEqn.H does the pressure correction: Given two phases A and B and assume a volume fraction of A as \epsilon: We may know that: \frac{\partial \epsilon_{A} \rho_{A}}{\partial t} + \nabla \cdot (\epsilon_{A} \rho_{A} U) = 0. However, I did not see any terms in pEqn.H to denote the first term about the evolution of density. Only the divergence of the velocity is considered in the pressure correction. I check other multiphase solvers like interIsoFoam or multiphaseInterFoam, and they might inherit the pEqn.H from the interFoam, does it mean the continuity of rho is solved dependent on the phase interface function instead of a consistent pressure equation? Please correct me if I miss some codes or some misunderstanding. Thank you for any suggestions! Lee |

phi is mass flux
transport of mass mass flux integrated over the volume is mass continuity |
