You might like to have a look at the case of confined turbulent diffusion flame simulated by way of Multi-Fluid Model at http://www.cham.co.uk/phoenics/d_pol...e/mfmcombs.htm
MFM provides very economical way to calculate pdf and demonstrates many attractive features for modelling the effects of turbulent fluctuations on chemical reactions and related micromixing.
