Hey all,
I am trying to build a scrub pad which can scrub oily-dirt off the floors. The Scrub pad is fed water to make it wet, and this is through a controlled water flow. The scrub pad is held against the floor and floor is expected to be clean by to-and-fro motion of the scrub pad. The aim is to develop a scrub material optimized for this application. For this, I want to set-up a digital prototype before I begin with Material design. With this, I can then vary & find out the optimal material properties of the scrub pad. Case: The Scrub material (rectangular, foam-based) gets wet by the water which is fed directly to it from above with some pipes. I want to simulate the flow within the material (as the porosity and permeability is known). Then couple this flow field with a FEA Study, where a translatory mesh motion is given to analyze the stress contours on the bottom of the scrub pad, to get an idea on its scrubbing efficiency. I am also exploring coupling with DEM to model the oily-dirt (but keeping this on the backhand for now). I want to know if my approach is right? OR is there any other simpler way to get the basic understanding of scrub? Any help is appreciated. Last edited by The Yogi; April 21, 2023 at 11:02. Reason: Attaching an image |
