Friction Reynold's number vs Bulk Reynold's number

What is the relationship between Friction Reynold's number vs Bulk Reynold's number?
Can we calculate friction Reynold's number if the bulk Reynold's number is known, if yes then how? Because the formula for friction Reynolds number invovle a derivative of velocity. |

Chapter 7 in Turbulent Flows by Pope covers it very well. You want to read that over anything possibly written here.
The answer, however, is no, not without assumptions. And even in that case, most times you would also need to solve a non linear equation |
