Hello~ I'm a beginner trying to simulate a cylinder tank with an inlet and an outlet of water, and the two flowrates are equal. The tank is initially filled with water already. The cell counts I have is 324498, and number of processors is 16.
What solver should I use? I know it should be transient and incompressible. I tried InterMixing solver where I could have ~90 seconds simulation done in 24 hours, whereas Pimple solver can do ~2800 seconds simulation in 24 hours. The residue curves look very different, so I'm wondering if Pimple is compromising simulation quality just to run at a faster speed. I haven't tried OpenFoam yet, but does OpenFoam runs faster in general comparing to other softwares? Many thanks! |
