Hi everyone,
I am reading the well-known CFD book, 'An introduction to computational fluid dynamics: the finite volume method'. I have an difficulty in reproducing the results presneted in the book for example 8.3 at Chapter 8 (Page number 258). * I strictly follow the parameters presented in the book. * I also double checked the values of coefficient in the discretized equations. * In the book, the author mentioned ''it gives a tri-diagonal system of equations which can be solved iteratively with the TDMA". However, as the example uses QUICK differencing and implicit time integration, for convenience, I am using the 'Gauss Elimination method' to resolve all the equations. The Gauss Elimination method I am using is correct as I have validated the method multiple times. * The results I got are about 30 times larger than the values presented in the book. * Does anyone in this forum by a chance reproduced example 8.3? * I tried to reduce the value of 'a' and 'b' in the book from '-200' and '100' to '-7' and '3.5'. Then I can get results much closer to the book. Could anyone help with this? Many thanks in advance. Bill |
