Hi all;
I have two actual radiation problems for solving. The first problem. 1) Two parallel plates and an air flow between these plates. The plates are called p1, and p2. The temperature of plates are Tp1= 313 and Tp2= 333 K, respectively. The inlet air temperature is 293 k. Thermal emittance of plates is 0.9. Also, reflectivity and absorptance for these similar plates is 0.5. These two plates also radiated on themselves. Furthermore, the air flow rate is 0.2 kg/s, the distance between two plates is 0.5 m and the length of the plates is 1 m and the width is infinitive. The second problem: 2) A boundary layer problem: Air flow velocity over the plate is 0.1m/s and the length of the plate is 1 m. the plate width is infinitive. The plate and air temperature are 340k and 293 k, respectively. Thermal reflectance, absorptance and emittance are 0.5,0.5 and 0.9 respectively. The air quality index is 50 and relative humidity is 20 % for each one of two problems. Would anyone please describing to me if there is a CFD Tool for the solution of these two actual problems? |

You've given the boundary conditions of your problem. That's nice. But you haven't given the modeling approach or what type of solution you want.
For example, for problem 1, if you want just the heat flux between the two plates I can do this on a napkin. Problem 2 I can also still do on a napkin + I need a psychometric chart to tell me what are the properties of air at that relative humidity. CFD generally solves transport equations for momentum and energy. It's quite simple to do gray diffuse radiation when the air is treated as non-interacting medium. With interacting medium, it's also doable if it's a gray medium. So where is your desired modeling approach in relation to these? |

Ok, with regarding the relative humidity and some other parameters, I can get the water vapor mass fraction at inlet boundary. Also, since the air flow in this case study, is actual ambient air, it’s better to be considered the suspended particulate matter (SPM) in this analysis. For this purpose, it’s possible to consider a mass fraction of solid particulate flow at inlet.
I guess, I should consider the ambient air as an interacted fluid flow and so probably the air radiation characteristics has to be considered. Moreover, I took a look on some solvers in Ansys program and observed some solver techniques for radiation problems such as DTRM, DO and S2S. However, there are some restrictions for their assigning in some practical problems. Therefore my main question is :” which one of solvers can I assign for my problem with a good approximation?” Is there a practical example or tutorial to help me find some solutions?
