Hello everyone,
Im currently trying to investigate the effect of an air scoop on radiator flow performance for a car. However, i'm running stuck on inplementing the radiator/fan. I want to use a porous region as to simulate the pressure drop over the rad (i have already proved that this is an accurate representation) and a fan interface to simulate the fan. Right now i'm gettting stuck on defining the boundaries/regions/interfaces needed to get this to work. If i just draw a windtunnel over the rad it acts like it doens't exists in the simulation. However if i extract the radiator/parts from the windtunnel (in siemens nx, i dont quite understand how the extract geometry function works in star ccm) i get a lot of problems with interfaces/duplicate faces etc. Does anybody know how to do this effectively? I've added some pictures to clarify. Sincerely Boaz https://imgur.com/a/ilOWj4s this is the tunnel simply drawn around the radiator block https://imgur.com/a/I4sQNm4 a setup that does work, where the radiator is not fully encapsulated by the windtunnel, and a picture of the radiator/fan package i need to simulate |
