Good evening to everyone.
I'm a mechanical engineering student, currently, I'm doing my degree thesis about of analysis and simulation of the compression phenomenon that occurs in a natural gas - reciprocating compressor. I'm rookie in these matters of CFD, however, I've been studying Ansys Fluent no more than one month ago. I have investigated about meshing, transient simulation, dynamic mesh (I made files ".prof" that contain information about the piston motion), among others simulation parameters (single and double precision, hybrid initialization, etc..) In many of my simulations I have run into issues like "floating point exception", "Negative volume cell detected in dynamic mesh", and other that I don't remember in this moment. Due to computational capacity of my laptop, the minimum mesh size I can do is 0.5 mm, and the boundary conditions are a inlet-pressure (25 PSI) and outlet-mass flow (100-500 kg/s). I would like you to share tips and recommendations with me, it would be very helpful. Thank you and have a nice day. I'll be waiting for your answers.
