I am looking for elementry information of VOF and its preferred application. I am looking for literature and books which give a good basic introduction of VOF to a beginer.

Go to the top of the index for cfd-online (just click the Back button on your browser), click "search" on the menu, put "VOF" in the "search for" field.

You'll find several previous discussion and references, pointing to the original papers, simple codes, etc.
