Cool America's Cup Foils: Delaying Cavitation

Greetings, I am keen on the America's Cup, especially the tech behind these boats. I had an idea - which may well be rubbish - but have been unable to find anything on it:


Regarding the cavitation "brick wall" the hydrofoils run into, would allowing some fluid to "bleed" through from the lower surface to the upper surface to slightly increase pressure to just above critical "vapour point" (?) help to prevent cavitation, and allow the foil to perform above current limits, which is a bit below 50 knots or so?


I've seen diagrams of the V shaped supercavitating and base cavitating foils, like Sailrocket used for their sailing speed record, but of course they're not much help at slower speeds.


Just wondering... as a rank amateur...if there is any merit in this at all?
