Spacehorse is on a distinguished road
Hi Everyone,

I am looking to model how a frame will react when placed in water.

What I want to do is use a CFD software or other modelling software to discover if the frame sinks or floats, and determine the magnitude of the force in that vertical direction.
Secondly I would like to determine the orientation of the frame once it is in equilibrium, i.e if it tilts forwards/backwards.. etc...

Would anyone be able to suggest the best package to use for this modelling and if it is even practical to use CFD for this application.

Ideally I would be using a Free or open source package.

I have a little experience of using ICEM and Fluent. (for steady state simulations of varying angle of attacks of an aeroplane, so not really related to buoyancy)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
