Hello,

I am trying to simulate flow over a heated rotating cylinder. My configuration though is slightly different from what the conventional literature discusses - the cylinder is within a 2D region of a certain geometry where the flow takes place.

I wish to calculate the heat flux from the cylinder, and to do that I am monitoring the 'Total Surface Heat Flux'. I am using the SST k-w model, and have been carrying out y+ studies.

The value of the heat flux has been gradually decreasing with y+ (5-1). I observed that as I go from y+ = 1 to y+ = 0.5, there is a 1.17% decrease in the flux value. As I go from y+ = 0.5 to y+ = 0.4, the value increases this time (by 0.4% wrt y+ = 0.5). That comes out to be a 0.75% decrease from y+ = 1.

My question is, what could be this cause of this increase?

Note : I do not have any source for validation of the heat flux values.
