SYMPOSIUM ON CFD APPLICATIONS IN AEROSPACE 2001 ASME FLUIDS ENGINEERING DIVISION SUMMER

MEETING New Orleans May 29-June 1, 2001

The Coordinating Group on Computational Fluid Dynamics and the Coordinating Group on Industrial Technology of the ASME is sponsoring a symposium on CFD Applications in Aerospace.

Although most fluid dynamics problems encountered by the Aerospace industry that require advanced computational techniques are as a rule not unique to Aerospace, some nevertheless are more important to Aerospace than other industries. This has resulted in extensive efforts by both the Aerospace companies and computer code developers to develop computational capabilities in areas critical to Aerospace systems. The purpose of this symposium is to exchange information on all aspects of Aerospace fluid dynamics research. Topics covered in the symposium include, but are not limited to:

ò Propellant tank pressurization analysis ò Liquid thermal stratification ò Geysering ò Flow circuit analysis ò Feed line flow stability

ò Feed line cavitation ò Pogo supression ò Propellant control in a low-gravity environment ò Experience with specific CFD codes ò

Feedline vapor ingestion

Prospective authors are requested to submit 4 copies of an abstract of 300-500 words to one of the organizers listed below. A cover letter should include name, address, telephone and fax number, and email address of the author to whom correspondence should be directed. The abstract will be used for preliminary screening, final paper acceptance will be based on the complete manuscript.
