Hello,
I am currently working with Dealii for a project. Currently, Dealii can only read .msh files of legacy 2 format (2.2). I am trying to update the source code for it to be able to read the new MSH format (4.1) I was wondering if this has been done before? Thank you for your time! |

Hello,
Have you read gmsh documentation ? File format specification is well detailed. https://gmsh.info/doc/texinfo/gmsh.html#File-formats Nevertheless, you can still export your mesh files to legacy v2 format from the latest gmsh versions, is there a specific feature you need from v4 format ? |

Hello!
Thank you for your reply! So I am aware that gmsh is able to generate various versions of .msh file from a .geo file. What I am trying to do is write a code that can read a version 4.1 .msh file and extract the information needed to make a version 2.2 .msh file. I was wondering if this had been done before! Thank you for your time |
