Hi everyone,

I am using the SST Transition Model in Starccm+. It is recommended to have mesh on the turbine blade 0.5% of the lowest chord which in my case should be 0.00035 m. For now I am using the custom control for the blade and the cell size is 0.03 m and already 11 M cells, if I further reduce it, it gives a red warning and meshing stops. I am using the PC with two cores and 15 GB RAM. Any idea?

Thanks for your time.

My first guess would be that your PC is running out of memory with this many cells. 15GB is not a whole lot for more than 11 million cells.
No idea what a "red warning" might be. Maybe check top or taskmanager to see what is going on with memory consumption when the error occurs.

Sorry the RAM is 15.9 GB however I noticed that it is fully utililizing the RAM around 15.3/15.9 GB.

Then that's probably your problem. You would need more RAM. And solving such a large mesh on a dual-core CPU is going to take a while.

Yes exactly. I have tried reducing the cell count by adding curve control, and custom control but they didn't help much.
