I am performing sloshing simulation within a cylindrical tank I applied displacement load to the tank walls and define no-slip boundary condition to the tank wall my solution ran normally and resulting in a converged solution but when I ran the same simulation by applying free slip boundary condition my solution crashes by showing fetal overflow error in the linear solver FINMES. why is it so? I have tried to remove the error by changing mesh size and increasing timestep size it works but at that particular timestep size solution starts diverging at 10 timesteps and then converged after 20 timesteps Can anyone help me.
my monitor value is the pressure which is normal to the tank wall can I use the pressure values of no-slip case one thing more to share I have done both analyses to calculate the sloshing pressure i.e. at no-slip and at free slip at the same timestep, mesh size, and loading it shows the percentage error of only 0.048%. it shows that sloshing pressure is independent of boundary conditions. I want to tank expert opinion on that. May I proceed with this pressure or not. |
