Hello all,
I have been trying to simulate a ship imported mesh from Pointwise to starccm+. The problem what I am facing now is that after running 40 mins/252 iterations it shows error implying that there is non-positive volume cell 1.jpgand the expanded error message shows reversed flow and matrices problem.2.PNG I have used the mesh diagnostic before running, it shows the mesh has no negative volume.Capture (1).PNG I have examined the mesh volume component in pointwise too. And yes it might have a few volumes with a negative value. Can anybody lead me what is the actual problem and what should I do? I have been stuck with this problem forever and tried to remesh the model a few time. Thanks in advance |

I cant imagine needing to run 252 iterations to get this kind of error or notice something seems wrong. What I can say is I've had issues going from Pointwise to Star before and it could be something you setup the Pointwise mesh to be all negative volume in Star's mind. I saw someone flip this in Fluent so you can problem do that in Star.

sorry I didn't get your word. The mesh report in star does not show any negative cells. what else the problem could be? it happens after every 252 iterations- reversed flow and matrices problem. I have not solved the problem yet!
