RustyCohle is on a distinguished road
Hi folks,

I'm currently meshing a turbocharger volute and I want to compare different meshes with varying parameters (especially prism layer parameters). Now I'm looking for a way to compare my results from steady state simulations. My initial conditions are always the same. I only exchange the volute mesh. My impeller mesh stays untouched. For my steady state simulations I thought about these parameters for comparison:

  • mass flow
  • total pressure loss (over the volute only)
  • flow angle
  • visual comparison like velocity and pressure plots on a plane across the volute
My meshes are generated with ICEM and my simulations are performed with ANSYS CFX.
Now my question would be if you guys think that I should add other tools for comparison or if you have an other idea how to compare my results.

I'm looking forward to your replies. Thanks in advance!

Regards

Rusty Cohle
