Hi foamers,
I need to save just a few planes and surfaces for a simulation, with the overPimpleDyMFoam solver. Now I run in parallel with 16 processors and generate about 150GB of results, but it is too big it can only run 0.0 ... 2 seconds. Can anyone recommend a solution or a link to read? Thank you.- |

I don't use the latest FOAM so I can't dump any links but Foam comes with a sampling utility that allows you to output surface data at runtime. You just need to put the right stuff in your controlDict and link libsampling.so
There is also postProcess utility that also has similar features but is meant to be run after a simulation has finished. If your case is already done and you are just trying to extract the results needed and recover some hard disk space, this is the way to go. |

Hey Lucky Tran,
Thanks for your advice, but my idea was not do a postProcces actually i do likewise you explainme. I need a solution to minimize the size of data, during the running. |
