Hi there,
I'm working on my thesis right now and I need to make a numeric simulation of a flow through an orifice plate using the Finite Differences method, I'm still a beginner on CFD and I started reading some books such as: Computational Fluid Dynamics the basics with applications by John D. Anderson. The simplifications for Navier-Stokes that I'm using are: Steady flow, incompressible flow, Newtonian fluid and the heat transfer can be neglected. Also, since I'm working with a flow through a tube, it would be more advisable to use cylindrical coordinates.
I would appreciate if any of you guys could point me some books that work using finite differences, I'm having trouble on setting the initial conditions and
boundaries while coding, the software that I'm using is Matlab by the way, and the results that I need are velocity gradient and the pressure gradient associated to it.
I started coding and was able to set the geometry for orifice plate, but wasn't able to understand well the boundary and initial conditions, also the discretizion using cylindrical coordinates weren't so simple for me, I found it easier for me, I'm using central differences on space, since it's steady flow I'm not using any derivative on time.
Thanks in advance for anyone who could share some tips and guidance with me.
