Can I analyze morphing airfoil without dynamic mesh?

I want to analyze morphing airfoil in supersonic flow, but I cannot use dynamic mesh since there are some problems. I’m considering to make several sections of airfoil in morphing process. My question is that, is it possible to represent real morphing process?

If you don't do the dynamic mesh you can still do the uncoupled (or one-way) fluid-structure interaction problem. You take the aero loads from your aero simulation and import that into a structural solver.
It's uncoupled because you can get how the body deforms under the load but not how the changed body also affects the flow (two-way). |

Thanks for answer.
Shape of airfoil is not affected by aerodynamic load; it is changing its shape in mechanical way. I hope to know if I can select several moments of its mechanical process then analyze each of them with normal (not dynamic) mesh to know the effect of mechanical process on aerodynamics of airfoil. |

If the grid would be deforming during the morphing and you are interested in the transient motion, then you will lose the contribution of the grid motion to the flow solution. The grid velocity terms do contribute to the flow solution unless you are considering several static points where the steady flow solution is being computed.

You can treat the solutions you get as the quasi-steady response of the flow (i.e. a very slowly morphing airfoil). This flow is not exactly the same as with the properly morphing airfoil (or a quickly morphing airfoil), but you can probably learn some things from the solution still. It will depend on the flow inertia how significant is this morphing rate.
