Hi,
I am trying to stimulate a brake testing condition using ANSYS CFX wherein the brake rotor undergoes 10 consecutive stops from a speed of 100 kph to 0 kph at 0.9 g deceleration with 8 seconds to regain the speed to 100 kph. The type of analysis is transient. For the heat source, I am using an expression which gives the value of heat flux which is some fraction of change in kinetic energy during deceleration. In order to perform 10 braking cycles, I am assuming that the heat flux generated in each decelerating cycle is equal in all the stops and the heat flux while acceleration (0 to 100 kph) is zero (since no brake is applied) I think there are 3 possible ways to perform this : Calculating heat flux for each time step and importing it as a table in CFX. (I would like to know if there is an option to import table data as input in CFX). Creating an expression using "if" which defines the Heat flux for different cycles. Running different cycles separately and inputting the result of previous cycle as input for next cycle. I am looking for suggestions on which method would be the most efficient. Thanks in advance. |
