I have a problem where there are chemical flux measurements at points within a closed chamber and the airflow rate in and out of the chamber is known. The point measurement time-series are located along a fixed plane, so in 2-D. I am wondering how I can construct a 3-D CFD simulation from these point measurements over time, given that the reaction rates and chamber dimensions are known, and what an appropriate model might be? Primarily, I am hoping to use OpenFOAM or SU2 software, since they are open-source.

It's hard to say whether it is doable or not because you haven't explained your model... So you have a chamber with an inlet and outlet. Okay. If you were only solving for airflow that is doable. But you mentioned something about reactions but didn't give any details what these reactions are like. Nuclear reactions? Quantum reactions? Magical ones? Note that magical reactions is not really a joke because in numerical-land you can make magical things happen forcibly.
Btw, if you have air flow into and out of the chamber, then it's not a closed chamber! |
