Hello sir,
I'm trying to do the simulation for vortex flow with trapezoidal bluff body. I do same as the tutorial provided for the Cylindrical bluff body but I'm not able to see the formation of vortices. Geometry details (2D): D=25mm, d(width)=7mm, velocity=1mps, strouhal number=0.30 |

Hi;
If your run case is steady vortex flow can not be resolved. Detecting the vortex behind the bodies needs unsteady CFD simulation. regards |

It is not easy to guess an answer without details, but usually the vortex are not detected for two main reasons:
- your mesh is not resolved enough, as already suggested - your turbulence model is badly set or you are not using it at all ( and your mesh is not fine enough for a dns) A picture of yoir doman and the Re number you are using might help. |
