Hello ALL,
I am performing simulation of building structure. I have created a building and its surroundings in ANSYS. I AM FINDING SOME DIFFICULTIES IN GENERATING STRUCTURED MESH IN ANSYS DM. Since details inside the house(for example 3D rectangle on the floor) is considered and I am getting error as "Multi zone found a free block in swept volume". I have followed following procedure, 1. Created geometry with details such as opening doors, windows and 3D rectangle on the floor. 2. I have constructed Computational Domain and then subtracted(Boolean) the geometry out of it. 3. Then I have divided the domain into blocks for this building and also for respective surrounding buildings. 4. Then, I have tried to use Multi zone and Hexa dominant method. Is the procedure correct? The errors is, 1. Multi zone found a free block in swept volume. Could anyone suggest me the way to overcome this mistake and mesh the building and domain with the structured grid. Thanks all in advance |

Hi, I think a sketch or image of the geometry you are working with would help a lot. Is it critical to have a structured mesh? Can you try it first with an unstructured tetrahedral/polyhedral mesh?
