Self Similarity of Turbulent Kinetic Energy

Hello all, I am studying jet flow in my CFD course. My question is, Can turbulent kinetic energy profiles be self similar in case of jet flow? If it is so, what is the way to normalize it? Thanks in advance.

The maximum velocity excess and the jet half width can be used to normalise the cross-stream profiles of the mean and turbulence fields. An excellent discussion of similarity theory for free turbulent shear flows is given here:
